Melissa d’Arabian’s Parisian Cafe Salad
The secret is in the sauce!
I just to have to share the link to Melissa d’Arabian’s Parisian Cafe Salad. It is just the most refreshing salad dressing ever!
Melissa is not vegetarian, but you will recall that in the Miami episode of The Next Food Network Star, where the contestants catered a party (Miami Up All Night), Melissa was the only participant to create a dish for the vegetarians, who otherwise would have gone hungry that night. Hoorah!
Congrats Melissa, for getting signed for a second season!

Melissa d'Arabian's Cafe Salad dressing goes well with a variety of greens!
Popped Flowers, anyone?
These are actual popped flowers, and they taste just like popcorn!

You can’t eat this watching a movie though – the cusps are sharp and must not be eaten. Still a nice novelty appetizer/snack though.
Thank you to Inagiku in Makati Shangrila.
Tofu Teppanyaki
I’m trying to shake my fish teppanyaki addiction, so at the next Japanese restaurant we went to, I ordered Tofu Teppanyaki instead. My gamble paid off! It was so good.

Appetizer: It tasted like the eggplants were grilled then sauteed. Yummy!
Yum!

Tofu Steak Teppanyaki
I always order ripe mango shake! I didn’t like theirs though. It tasted like it was diluted.

Ripe Mango Shake
It’s at Sugi in Greenbelt.
Try to go before 12 noon. The place fills up really quickly!
Crispy Kangkong at Tootsie’s

I love Tootsie’s Crispy Kangkong! Now, if only they had vegan mayonnaise…
In the US, I would buy regular spinach and use the Mama Sita’s recipe to make crispy kangkong. I think it turned out OK, except I couldn’t make them stay crispy too long. Any ideas on how to make homemade crispy kangkong stay crispy?
